JBM Ecolife Mobility Pvt Ltd, a subsidiary of JBM Auto Ltd, has won a ₹1,800-crore contract for procurement, operation and maintenance of 343 electric buses for Ahmedabad Janmarg Ltd and other leading corporates.
The company in a filing with the stock exchanges said the orders for ‘Ahmedabad BRTS, Ahmedabad Municipal Transport Service under Gross Cost Contracting [GCC] and some leading Corporates’ has to be executed within a year.
Ahmedabad Janmarg Ltd, a 100 per cent subsidiary of Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation, currently operates 150 electric buses on BRTS routes in Ahmedabad city. It has 160 km of operational route within the city and operates over 380 buses that carry on average over 2.2 lakh passengers daily.
