Indian Energy Exchange (IEX) on Tuesday said it has traded 10,910 million units (MUs) of electricity in January 2025, logging a year-on-year rise of 16 per cent. During the month, IEX traded a total of 38.03 lakh renewable energy certificates, the highest ever in a month, the company said in an exchange filing. In day-ahead market (DAM), it achieved 6,015 MU volume in January 2025 as compared to 5,540 MU volume in same month last year, registering an increase of 9 per cent YoY.
Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) has infomred the exchanges that tax authorities have slapped a demand notice of about ₹101.95 crore on it for short payment of Goods and Services Tax (GST) for five financial years. The company has received a communication/demand order for interest and penalty for several states, LIC said in a regulatory filing. The order is appealable before the Commissioner (Appeals), Thane, it said.
Hero MotoCorp on has received a GST demand of ₹456 crore from the Rajasthan authorities. The company has received an order from the Additional Commissioner, Central Goods and Services Tax, Alwar, Rajasthan, imposing a penalty of Rs 456.06 crore under Section 74 of the Central Goods and Service Tax Act, 2017, along with an equivalent amount of GST and applicable interest thereon by disputing the tax rates on the parts and accessories supplied between July 2017 and March 2024, the two-wheeler major said in a regulatory filing.
NTPC has signed an agreement with the Indian Army to supply 200 kilowatt of round-the-clock renewable energy from Ladakh microgrid. The power purchase agreement (PPA) has been signed for a period of 25 years for sale of (200 kW RE-RTC (renewable energy-round the clock) from solar-hydrogen based microgrid at Chushul (Ladakh), NTPC said in a statement.

Since it is only a stop work order, we are not able to quantify the financial implications on the operations of the company,” it said.

Zomato informed the exchanges that the tax authorities (he commissioner (appeals) in Gurugram,) dropped a demand for Rs 5.9 crore in unpaid goods and services tax from the company. The demand was raised in April last year.
Sun Pharmaceutical Industries has been penalised ₹160.2 crore by the Additional Commissioner of Central GST & Central Excise, Surat, under Section 74(1) of the CGST Act. The penalty relates to an issue concerning interest and a 100% penalty levied on the cross charge of expenses. Claiming that there will be no material impact on the company’s financials, operations, or other activities, Sun Pharma said it intends to take necessary steps to challenge the order and file an appeal against the decision.
