The Competition Commission of India has ordered a probe against state-run Rashtriya Chemicals and Fertilizers for allegedly compelling dealers and farmers to buy other products along with urea in Maharashtra. Acting on a complaint filed by an individual, the fair trade watchdog said the conduct of RCF appeared to contravene provisions of the Competition Act, including those relating to abuse of dominant position and anti-competitive agreements, according an order.

JM Financial Credit Solutions Ltd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of JM Financial, on Sunday said it will sell a 2.1 per cent stake in its home loans subsidiary to Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance Company for ₹65.5 crore. In a regulatory filing on Sunday, JM Financial said JMFCSL has executed an investment agreement with Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance to sell 1.36 crore equity shares, representing a 2.10 per cent stake in JM Financial Home Loans at ₹48 apiece. The transaction, scheduled for completion by August 31, will reduce JM Financial Credit Solutions’ shareholding in the home loans subsidiary JMFHLL from 8.98 per cent to 6.88 per cent.

ICICI Bank has raised the minimum balance requirement for its new savings bank accounts opened on or after August 1 by five times to Rs 50,000. The minimum monthly average balance (MAB) for savings bank accounts till July 31, 2025 for ICICI Bank customers was Rs 10,000. Similarly, MAB for semi-urban locations and rural locations have been increased five times to Rs 25,000 and Rs 10,000, respectively, according to information available on the ICICI Bank website. In case account holders fail to meet the MAB, customers will be liable to pay penal charges of 6 per cent of the shortfall in required MAB, or Rs 500, whichever is lower.
