लखनऊ सुपर जायंट्स के लिए 21 साल के मुकुल चौधरी ने वो काम कर दिया, जिसकी किसी ने कल्पना भी नहीं की होगी. 182 रनों के चेज में लखनऊ ने 16 ओवर में 128 रनों पर सात विकेट गंवा दिए थे. मैच पूरी तरह से केकेआर की पकड़ में था. लेकिन मुकुल चौधरी के मन में कुछ और चल रहा था. वो हर ओवर में चौका-छक्का लगाकर मैच को करीब ले जाते रहे. लास्ट 2 ओवर में 30 रन बचे तो मुकुल ने 19वें ओवर में 16 रन बना दिए. अंतिम ओवर में 14 रन बनाने थे. आवेश ने सिंगल दिया तो मुकुल ने छक्का लगा दिया. फिर दो डॉट रहीं. अब दो गेंद में सात रन बनाने थे. मुकुल ने छक्का लगा दिया. लास्ट गेंद पर एक रन लेकर लखनऊ को हारी हुई बाजी जिता दी. मुकुल चौधरी ने सिर्फ 27 गेंद में नाबाद 54 रनों की मैच विनिंग पारी खेली.
