Apple will reportedly not manufacture its high-end model, iPhone 14 Pro Max, from the recently launched iPhone 14 series in the country.

Several reports emerged saying that the iPhone 14 Pro Max is being manufactured in India. However, according to close sources, the high-end model will not be manufactured in the country, reports GizmoChina.

As per the reports, the tech giant is reportedly reducing its reliance on China for product manufacturing.

“The new iPhone 14 lineup introduces ground-breaking new technologies and important safety capabilities. We’re excited to be manufacturing iPhone 14 in India,” the company said last month.

Foxconn is assembling the new iPhone 14 at its Sriperumbudur facility near Chennai.

At this pace, industry analysts predict that next year, Apple might manufacture iPhone 15 in India at the same time in China.

The tech giant started manufacturing iPhones in India in 2017 with iPhone SE.

Apple manufactures some of its most advanced iPhones in the country, including iPhone 11, iPhone 12 and iPhone 13, at the Foxconn facility, while iPhone SE and iPhone 12 are being assembled at the Wistron factory in the country.

Google Messages update brings emoji reactions for Android users to iOS text

Google has announced that Android users will soon be able to react to SMS texts from iPhone users with emojis as well in Google’s Messages app.

The app will be updated with this feature and other enhancements in the coming weeks.

“The messaging app is built around RCS (Rich Communication Services), a modern messaging protocol that supports richer text features, higher resolution images and videos, and enables end-to-end encryption,” said the company in a blogpost.

“Google’s messaging app will make voice messages more accessible. Using machine learning, voice message transcription auto-transcribes the message so that users can access it easily, i.e., with this feature, users can read voice messages in any crowded place,” it added.

Moreover, users can now watch YouTube videos from within Messages without leaving the app. In this way, users can quickly watch and respond when someone sends them a YouTube link.

Within new features, it also includes “Reminders”, which is included directly in “Messages” to help users remember important moments without navigating across several apps on their phone.

With “Star”, users will be able to mark their important texts such as an address, door code, phone number, and more within the app.

Instagram has rolled out new features to protect users from abuse, along with updates to Hidden Words.

Now if you block someone, you will have the option to block additional accounts they may have to make it more difficult for them to connect with you again, the company said in a blogpost.

Based on the findings of the first tests for this new change, the company expects that four million fewer accounts will need to be blocked each week since these accounts will now be blocked automatically.

Since it launched last year, more than one in five people with a minimum of 10,000 followers have turned on the Hidden Words feature.

Hidden Words is an effective tool for automatically removing damaging content from message requests and comments.

According to the company, 40 per cent fewer comments on average might be offensive.

The company is starting to test automatically turning on Hidden Words for Creator accounts.

Every user will be able to turn the settings on or off at any time and make a customised list with additional words, phrases and emojis they might want to hide.

Now, a new notification will encourage the users to pause and think how they want to respond before replying to a comment that might be offensive.

The application also reminds people to be respectful in direct chats when sending a message request to a creator, the company said.

YouTube Premium has raised the price for its family plan to $22.99 per month

The video-streaming platform informed users by sending an email that the service gets a priceAhike for those using the family plan that allows for up to six accounts to use the same subscription, reports 9To5Google.

If someone wants to subscribe through the Apple App Store, the cost rises to $29.99 per month.

The price of the Premium for individual accounts is still the same.

“This change will take place on your next billing cycle starting on or after November 21, 2022,” the company was quoted as saying.

“All members have the flexibility to pause or cancel anytime here.”

YouTube does not explain why costs are rising, but it’s unquestionably a significant change. The fee of Premium has been constant since 2018, the report said.

The new pricing becomes effective for current members on their next billing cycle, however, it is currently in effect if someone signs up for the service as of right now.

Recently, the company had ended a test that required Premium subscription for 4K resolution videos.

In the experiment, the Google-owned streaming platform asked some users to pay for a Premium account in order to view videos in 4K resolution.

Because of users’ outrage, the company stopped the test.

Jio’s maiden laptop the JioBook is available for purchase on Reliance Digital. Showcased at the India Mobile Congress 2022, the Android-powered laptop was previously available only for the government department employees via government e-marketplace (GeM). The device has not been officially launched, but made available for the general public on Reliance Digital. Google improves Gmail search, Chat with search labels, related results

Google has rolled out new Gmail and Chat features to improve search experience with labels and related results.

The tech giant has introduced three features for accurate and customized search suggestions and results — ‘Search suggestions’, ‘Gmail labels’ and ‘Related results’.

These features do not have an admin control, the company said in a blogpost.

With ‘Search suggestions’ users can see search-query as they type in the Chat search field based on their prior search history. Additionally, it help users to quickly recall important messages, files, and more on mobile.

The Search suggestions feature is available on Android devices and will roll out to iOS devices by the end of October.

‘Gmail labels’ allow users to search messages under a specific Gmail label in the app to give results only under that label. Additionally, users can refine label searches using search chips in the Gmail search bar.

The labels feature is available on Android and iOS devices.

‘Related results’Ais for Gmail search-queries that give no results, related results will be displayed to improve the overall search experience.

The result feature is only available on the web, the company said.

Meanwhile, recently, the company had announced that over 250 million monthly active devices were powered by Android Go, after the company declared the release of Android 13.
