Apple’s MacBook Neo, MacBook Air, iPhone 17e and iPad Air — along with other products introduced by the company last week — are now available for purchase in India. These devices had been available for pre-orders since March 4 and are now going on sale through the Apple Store online, Apple retail outlets, as well as select e-commerce platforms and select retail outlets. Apple is also offering introductory deals on the new products, including bank cashback of up to Rs 10,000 on select MacBook purchases and up to Rs 4,000 cashback on the new iPad Air. Meta to acquire Moltbook, the viral social media network for AI agents

Meta said on Wednesday it is acquiring Moltbook, a social network built exclusively for artificial intelligence agents to make posts and interact with each other.


A takeover of the AI experiment by the parent company of Facebook and Instagram comes weeks after Moltbook attracted viral attention as an unusual Reddit-like hub for AI systems trading gossip.


Meta’s move reflects the tech industry’s ongoing fascination with the promise of AI agents that go beyond a chatbot’s capabilities in being able to act and perform tasks on a person’s behalf.


Meta said in a statement that Moltbook introduced novel ideas in a “rapidly developing space” and will open “new ways for AI agents to work for people and businesses”. Meta said it was hiring Moltbook co-founders Matt Schlicht and Ben Parr. The deal’s financial terms were not disclosed.

 


In a similar move, OpenAI, maker of ChatGPT, last month hired the creator of AI agent OpenClaw, formerly called Moltbot and the technology upon which Moltbook was built.


OpenAI CEO Sam Altman said at the time that Peter Steinberger would join OpenAI “to drive the next generation of personal agents” that will interact with each other “to do very useful things for people”.


OpenClaw operates on users’ own hardware and runs locally on their device, meaning it can access and manage files and data directly, and connect with messaging apps like Discord and Signal. Users who create OpenClaw agents then direct them to join Moltbook.


OpenAI also earlier this week said it was acquiring Promptfoo, an AI security platform that tests the behaviours and risks of agents.


Questions about the authenticity of content posted on Moltbook swirled in its first week of operation, when it was at its peak virality. Researchers at Wiz, a cloud security platform, published a report shortly after the platform launched detailing security vulnerabilities on the site, which have since been patched.

The Xiaomi Pad 8 tablet has debuted in India. It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 processor and comes with two display options: a nano-texture display and a glossy display, aimed at different usage scenarios. The tablet houses a 9,200mAh battery and runs on Xiaomi HyperOS 3 based on Android 16. Xiaomi has also introduced a Workstation Mode, offering a desktop-style interface that enables easier switching between multiple apps. The company further claims that the Pad 8 is the slimmest flagship Android tablet introduced in India in 2026.

 
 

 


Microsoft has added Copilot Cowork to Microsoft 365, which it said allows users to describe the task they want completed, after which the tool uses emails, meetings, messages, files and other Microsoft 365 data to carry it out. The announcement was shared by Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella in a post on X (formerly Twitter). As per the Microsoft blog, Copilot Cowork aims to move beyond simple AI responses and assist users in completing tasks automatically across apps such as Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Teams and Microsoft Excel within the Microsoft 365 ecosystem.

 

 


POCO has announced that the POCO X8 Pro series will launch in India on March 17. The lineup will include two models — the POCO X8 Pro and the POCO X8 Pro Max. The company has confirmed that the upcoming smartphones will be powered by MediaTek Dimensity processors and will feature large-capacity batteries. Additionally, the brand has confirmed that the devices will be available in white and black colour options.

 

 


OnePlus has introduced its Nord Buds 4 Pro and confirmed that they will launch in India on March 19. While announcing the launch date, the company also revealed some specifications and features. OnePlus said the Nord Buds 4 Pro will be capable of blocking up to 55 decibels of noise, which it claims is the highest in the Nord Buds lineup. The wireless earbuds will also support the LHDC 5.0 codec for high-resolution wireless audio streaming.

 

 


WhatsApp is reportedly testing a redesigned interface for chat message bubbles on Android. According to a report by WABetaInfo, the updated design introduces softer, more rounded chat bubbles intended to make conversations appear cleaner and more modern. The change was spotted in WhatsApp beta for Android version 2.26.10.2. The feature is reportedly available to a limited number of beta testers for now and could expand to more users in the coming weeks.

Vivo is reportedly preparing to expand its premium X300 series with two additional models — the Vivo X300 Ultra and the Vivo X300s. X (formerly Twitter) may have quietly introduced a new setting that could allow users to limit how their uploaded images are modified using the AI chatbot Grok. According to a report by The Verge, a new toggle labelled “block modifications by Grok” has been spotted in the image upload settings within the iOS version of the X app. The feature has not been officially announced by the company so far.

 


As per the report, the option appears when users upload an image, suggesting it may allow them to restrict certain types of AI-based edits. However, the feature does not appear to completely prevent Grok from editing images.

 
 


While the description associated with the toggle reportedly states that it can “prevent Grok from modifying this content”, in practice, this blocks one method of editing images — tagging the Grok bot in replies with instructions to modify a photo. This tagging method had previously been misused by some users to manipulate images of real individuals, as reported earlier.

 


While free X accounts are already restricted from editing images through Grok replies, the report claims that enabling the new toggle also appears to stop Premium subscribers from editing those images using the same tagging approach.


Will it actually protect users?


The Verge indicated that the setting does not protect images from other editing methods. According to its testing, users could still long-press on an image in the iOS app and select the “Edit image with Grok” option, which opens the image directly in the Grok app for editing. The report also suggested that a protected image could be saved, re-uploaded to a thread and then edited via Grok after the original protections are removed.

 


The toggle may not be easy to locate, though. Users may need to tap the paintbrush icon on an image thumbnail during the upload process and then open another menu through a flag icon to find the setting. The publication said the option did not appear during image uploads on the web version of X in its testing, and it was not visible for images that had already been posted.

 


Since the feature has not been formally announced, it remains unclear whether it is part of a wider rollout or still being tested.


Grok’s criticism for producing non-consensual erotica content


Grok faced widespread backlash after users started using the chatbot to create explicit images, often by asking it to “digitally undress” people shown in photos. Many of these images reportedly focused on women, including real individuals who had not consented to such depictions.

 


According to a report by CNN, researchers who reviewed thousands of AI-generated images found that a significant portion showed people in revealing clothing such as underwear or bikinis, with women accounting for the majority of cases. The practice spread rapidly on X (Twitter), where users were able to publicly tag Grok to generate or modify images.

 


The situation became more serious after researchers flagged instances in which users prompted Grok to produce sexually suggestive images of individuals who appeared to be minors.


OpenAI delays adult mode in ChatGPT


In related news, OpenAI has reportedly postponed the rollout of the “Adult mode” feature in ChatGPT once again.

 


According to a report by TechCrunch, citing Axios, an OpenAI spokesperson said the company is delaying the feature as it prioritises improvements related to personalisation and other areas. The representative added that while OpenAI still supports the idea of “treating adults like adults”, more time is needed to ensure the experience works as intended.

 


The company has not provided any updated timeline for the feature’s launch. For the uninitiated, plans for the “Adult mode” were first announced by OpenAI CEO Sam Altman in October 2025, with the rollout initially expected in December that year. However, it was delayed and pushed to the first quarter of 2026, and has now been postponed again.

Microsoft has introduced Copilot Cowork in Microsoft 365 that it said lets users describe the task they want done, and the tool uses emails, meetings, messages, files and other data in Microsoft 365 to complete it. The announcement was shared by Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella in a post on X (formerly Twitter). According to the Microsoft blog, Copilot Cowork is designed to go beyond basic AI responses and help users carry out tasks automatically across apps such as Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Teams and Microsoft Excel within the Microsoft 365 ecosystem.

 


Microsoft said it has integrated technology from Anthropic’s Claude Cowork into Microsoft 365 Copilot as part of its multi-model approach.

 
 


What does Copilot Cowork do in Microsoft 365

 


According to Microsoft, Copilot Cowork is designed to help users delegate tasks directly to AI. Instead of just generating answers or drafting messages, the system can take a request and convert it into a structured plan. The tool then continues executing that plan in the background.

 


As per Microsoft, the feature uses signals from emails, meetings, files and other work data across Microsoft 365 apps. It is powered by a system called Work IQ, which helps the AI understand the context of a user’s work.

 


The company said that users can also monitor the progress of tasks. Copilot Cowork provides checkpoints during execution so users can review actions, approve changes or pause the task if needed. The system may also ask for clarification if it requires more information before continuing.

 


How can Copilot Cowork be used in daily work

 


Microsoft highlighted several examples showing how Copilot Cowork could assist with daily work tasks.

 


One example is managing a busy schedule. Cowork can review a user’s Outlook calendar, identify meeting conflicts and suggest adjustments. Once approved, it can accept or decline meetings, reschedule events and add focus time automatically.

 

The tool can also help with company research. In this scenario, Copilot Cowork collects information such as earnings reports, analyst commentary and news sources, then compiles the findings into a research summary and structured documents. 

 


Security and enterprise features

 


According to Microsoft, Copilot Cowork operates within Microsoft 365’s existing security and compliance systems. Permissions, identity checks and company policies still apply when the AI performs tasks. The company also noted that the system runs in a protected cloud environment and logs actions for auditing.

 

Microsoft added that the feature benefits from a multi-model approach developed with Anthropic, integrating technology behind the Claude Cowork system into Microsoft 365 Copilot. WhatsApp is reportedly testing a redesigned interface for chat message bubbles on Android. According to a report by WABetaInfo, the new design is said to introduce softer, more rounded chat bubbles that aim to give conversations a cleaner and more modern look. The update has been spotted in the WhatsApp beta for Android version 2.26.10.2. The feature is reportedly available to some beta testers, indicating that the rollout is currently limited and may expand to more users in the coming weeks.

Softer and more rounded chat bubble design

 


According to the report, WhatsApp has redesigned its chat message bubbles to appear more rounded compared to the previous version. The report noted that earlier versions of the app used chat bubbles with sharper corners and a more rectangular shape, which created a compact and structured layout in conversations.

 
 


With the latest beta update, message bubbles reportedly feature a higher corner radius, giving them a fully rounded appearance. This change applies to different types of messages, including text, images, polls and event messages. The updated design is said to create a more consistent and visually cohesive interface across chats.

 

As per WABetaInfo, the redesign reportedly aims to make the chat layout appear cleaner and more contemporary, while also improving readability during long conversations. 

 


For multimedia messages

 


As reported, one of the most noticeable changes reportedly affects multimedia messages such as images and videos. Previously, media content appeared inside traditional chat bubble frames.

 


With the new design, images and videos reportedly appear as standalone rounded bubbles instead of being placed inside a rectangular message frame. This change is said to make multimedia messages feel more integrated within conversations and visually distinct from text messages.

 

However, there are some exceptions. In group chats or for forwarded messages, WhatsApp reportedly still shows a small header above the media bubble that displays the sender’s name and indicates if the message was forwarded. 

 


Availability

 


The redesigned chat bubbles are reportedly available to some beta testers who have installed the latest WhatsApp beta update for Android. WhatsApp is expected to expand the rollout to more beta testers in the coming weeks before potentially bringing the new design to the stable version of the app. The report suggests that the feature is currently being rolled out gradually and may not yet be visible to all users.
