The session, which began on January 31 and resumed on March 10 after a recess, ended on a high note with the passage of 16 bills, including the Union Budget for FY26.

The Budget Session of the 18th Lok Sabha adjourned sine die on Friday according to the schedule.

In his concluding remarks, the Speaker of the Lok Sabha, Om Birla, said that total productivity was 118 per cent. The session began on January 31 and went into recess on February 13. The second part of the session began on March 10 and ended on April 4. It may be noted that the previous two sessions ended before the scheduled last date.

While the 4th session of the 18th Lok Sabha passed the Union Budget for the fiscal year 2025-26, it will be remembered for the passage of the Waqf Bill, which got the nod at midnight after 12 long hours of debates. Later, Rajya Sabha too had a similar sitting before the bill was passed.

4th session saw a total of 173 members participating in the debate on the Presidential address, while 169 members spoke during the debate on the Union Budget. Another key highlight was the participation of members during Zero Hour. On Thursday, April 3, Zero Hour lasted more than 5 hours, and 202 members spoke. This is a new record after July 18, 2019, when 161 MPs had spoken during the extended Zero Hour. During Zero Hours, members get an opportunity to speak on Matters of Public Importance in Parliament.

During the session, 10 government bills were introduced, while the total of 16 bills got passed.
