He also noted the contributions of the education sector in Tamil Nadu’s industrial development. “One of the biggest reasons for this is employment generation — this sector has created large-scale job opportunities for many people,” he added

Private sector contributions towards the infrastructure sector have significantly helped in Tamil Nadu’s double-digit growth, according to Thangam Thennarasu, Minister for Finance and Human Resources Management, Government of Tamil Nadu.

Thennarasu was addressing the gathering at the VELS Trade & Convention Centre in Chennai.

The center, which can accommodate up to 20,000 guests at a time, is one of the largest such event venues in Chennai. The facility will host large-scale trade fairs, exhibitions, conferences, corporate events, political meetings, award ceremonies, weddings, summits and major cultural gatherings.

“Tamil Nadu’s growth has been driven by our strong infrastructure push. While the state government has played a crucial role in building this infrastructure, the contribution of the private sector is equally essential. Whether it is in education or in initiatives such as convention centers such as this, private participation is vital,” Thennarasu said.

He also noted the contributions of the education sector in Tamil Nadu’s industrial development. “One of the biggest reasons for this is employment generation — this sector has created large-scale job opportunities for many people,” he added.

The event also saw the presence of  Ishari Ganesh, Founder-Chancellor of VELS University and Chairman of VELS Group of Institutions and Companies and actor Kamal Haasan.
