स्मृति मंधाना और शेफाली वर्मा चमकीं, भारत ने नीदरलैंड को 95 रन से हराया

भारतीय महिला क्रिकेट टीम बुधवार को यहां स्मृति मंधाना (74 रन), शेफाली वर्मा (55 रन, 20 रन देकर तीन विकेट) और गेंदबाजों के शानदार प्रदर्शन की बदौलत महिला टी20 विश्व कप के अपने दूसरे मैच में नीदरलैंड को 95 रन से शिकस्त देकर ग्रुप एक में शीर्ष पर पहुंच गई.

बल्लेबाजी का न्योता मिलने के बाद मंधाना (47 गेंद में 11 चौके और एक छक्का) और शेफाली (38 गेंद, 10 चौके) ने नीदरलैंड के कमजोर गेंदबाजी आक्रमण की धज्जियां उड़ाते हुए पहले विकेट के लिए 115 रन की साझेदारी निभाई. इससे भारतीय टीम पांच विकेट पर 209 रन का स्कोर खड़ा कर विश्व कप इतिहास में सबसे बड़ा स्कोर बनाने में कामयाब रही.

जवाब में नीदरलैंड की टीम 17.3 ओवर में 114 रन पर ढेर हो गई. यह उसकी लगातार दूसरी हार थी. उसके लिए कप्तान बाबेटे डि लीडे 27 गेंद में 28 रन बनाकर शीर्ष स्कोरर रहीं.

पहले मैच में बांग्लादेश से हारने वाली नीदरलैंड की बल्लेबाज शुरू में संभलकर खेलीं. लेकिन फिर लगातार विकेट गंवाने से कोई अहम साझेदारी नहीं बना सकीं.

टीम की कोई भी बल्लेबाज भारतीय गेंदबाजों के सामने नहीं टिक सकीं. टीम ने अंतिम सात विकेट 23 गेंद में गंवा दिए.

भारतीय गेंदबाजों में श्री चरणी सबसे रहीं जिन्होंने चार ओवर में 19 रन देकर चार विकेट झटके.

शेफाली वर्मा ने अपने हरफनमौला खेल से नीदरलैंड की पारी को समेटने में अहम भूमिका निभाई. अर्धशतक जड़ने के बाद उन्होंने 3.2 ओवर में 20 रन देकर तीन विकेट झटके. इस तरह वह हेली मैथ्यूज और सुने लुस के बाद महिला टी20 विश्व कप मैच में अर्धशतक और तीन विकेट लेने वाली तीसरी खिलाड़ी बन गईं.

नंदनी शर्मा ने तीन ओवर में 22 रन देकर दो विकेट प्राप्त किए जबकि अनुभवी स्पिनर दीप्ति शर्मा को एक विकेट मिला.

श्रेयंका पाटिल हालांकि एक गेंद डालने के बाद टखना मुड़ने के कारण गेंदबाजी नहीं कर सकीं.

इससे पहले मंधाना ने लगातार दूसरी अर्धशतकीय पारी खेली जबकि शेफाली ने टूर्नामेंट में पहला अर्धशतक लगाया.

विकेटकीपर बल्लेबाज रिचा घोष 20 रन और दीप्ति शर्मा 10 रन बनाकर नाबाद रहीं. उनके अलावा जेमिमा रोड्रिग्स ने 19 रन का योगदान दिया.

पिछले मैच में पाकिस्तान पर जीत दर्ज करने वाली भारतीय टीम ने दो बदलाव करते हुए अरूंधति रेड्डी को आराम देकर नंदिनी शर्मा को और भारती फुलमाली की जगह यास्तिका भाटिया को अंतिम एकादश में शामिल किया.

पावरप्ले के दौरान शेफाली अपनी सीनियर मंधाना की तुलना में ज्यादा आक्रामक थीं, जिससे भारत ने इस दौरान 59 रन बनाए.

नीदरलैंड की गेंदबाज अपनी लाइन एंव लेंथ पर नियंत्रण नहीं कर पा रही थी, जिसका शेफाली ने पूरा फायदा उठाया. तेज गेंदबाज इसाबेल वोनिंग की गेंद पर एक्स्ट्रा कवर के ऊपर से लगाया गया उनका छक्का पहले छह ओवरों में आकर्षण का केंद्र रहा.

शेफाली के आक्रामक खेल के कारण नीदरलैंड की कप्तान बाबेटे डि लीड को बार-बार गेंदबाजी में बदलाव करने पड़े.

मंधाना ने पावरप्ले के बाद खुलकर खेलना शुरू किया. उन्होंने स्पिनरों और तेज गेंदबाजों, दोनों के खिलाफ आगे बढ़कर शॉट खेले. भारत की स्टार सलामी बल्लेबाज ने सिल्वर सिगर्स पर 15वें ओवर में लगातार चार गेंदों पर चार बाउंड्री लगाईं.

सलामी बल्लेबाजों के आउट होने के बाद रोड्रिग्स और कप्तान हरमनप्रीत कौर पारी को शानदार ढंग से खत्म नहीं कर सकीं.

हालांकि रिचा (आठ गेंद में नाबाद 20 रन) और दीप्ति शर्मा (दो गेंद में नाबाद 10 रन) की संक्षिप्त लेकिन असरदार पारी की बदौलत भारत विश्व कप इतिहास में अपना सबसे बड़ा स्कोर बनाने में सफल रहा.

Sensex Today | Stock Market LIVE Updates, Thursday, June 18, 2026: The GIFT Nifty indicated a muted open for the benchmark Nifty50 index amid a decline in the global equities after the US Federal Reserve delivered a hawkish pause. The futures were quoted at 24,031, down 13 points.

The US Fed held the federal funds target range steady at 3.5 per cent and 3.7 per cent. While Chairman Kevin Warsh avoided giving a rate forecast, the dot plot showed the central bank officials expect a chance of a rate hike in 2026.

Most Asia-Pacific markets were trading lower in the early trade on Thursday. The Hang Seng and the S&P ASX 200 were down 1.06 per cent and 0.35 per cent, respectively.

Meanwhile, Japan’s benchmark index scaled a fresh high, rising beyond the 71,000 mark. The index was up 1.94 per cent.
Overnight, the Dow Jones Industrial Average hit a fresh high intraday, but erased gains. The index settled 0.98 per cent down. The S&P 500 and the Nasdaq Composite ended 1.21 per cent and 1.34 per cent down, respectively.

Brent crude prices extended losses following the signing of an interim agreement between the US and Iran, which will open the Strait of Hormuz and waive Washington’s sanctions on Tehran’s oil.

The June future contract was quoted at $78.37 per barrel on the Intercontinental Exchange, down 1.48 per cent.

The Gold and Silver futures were trading 0.93 per cent and 1.9 per cent down, respectively.

IPO Today

Riyaasat Lifestyle and Avience Biomedicals initial public offers (IPOs) will open for subscription on Thursday. The two book-built issues consist entirely of fresh equities worth ₹30.77 crore and ₹30.24 crore, respectively.

Four SME IPOs will enter their second day of subscription. These are Leapfrog Engineering, Liotech Industries, Diksha Polymers, and Clay Craft.

Meta executive leading 'AI for work' overhaul exits amid restructuring

A Meta executive overseeing a key piece of its AI-related restructuring is leaving the company, according to an internal announcement seen by Reuters on Wednesday.

Emily Dalton Smith, who has been with the Facebook owner since 2015, previously held roles as a vice president of product management and head of product for Meta’s Twitter-like microblogging app Threads. Her departure comes about two months after Meta told employees she would be leading product work to improve internal AI tooling as part of a company-wide overhaul to center AI in both its user-facing offerings and its approach to internal work.

The restructuring, aimed at developing AI agents that could autonomously carry out tasks currently performed by human staffers, has caused an uproar among Meta employees. Staffers have openly criticized executives in company meetings and on message boards regarding the initiative, which has involved laying off 10 per cent of the workforce, transferring nearly as many employees to new units, and introducing mouse-tracking software that many employees see as tantamount to helping design their own bot replacements.

Dalton Smith’s unit, or “pod,” would be focused on “the interfaces, platform components, memory systems, automations and shared product experiences that make AI useful for everyone,” Meta CTO Andrew Bosworth said in a memo laying out the Agent Transformation Accelerator (ATA) plan in April.

That included responsibility for Metamate, Meta’s main internal enterprise AI assistant.

A Meta spokesperson declined to comment on whether Dalton Smith was leaving the company, but said Meta was continuing to incorporate AI tooling into Metamate. Dalton Smith told Meta employees in a separate memo about ATA last month that executives were aiming to consolidate the company’s internal-use AI tools into Metamate, recognizing that its existing set of tools was fragmented.

“Our goal is to make Metamate the starting point for all kinds of work – from doing deep research to prototyping a new feature to putting together a sales presentation,” she wrote.

Her team was planning to pull in functionality from AI systems that can navigate work files, enable coding coordination from chats, and retain “persistent memory” of people’s work, she said.

She said the team would also incorporate “polished dashboards and microsites” including those from Manus, a Singapore-based AI agent startup Meta acquired for around $2 billion in December.

The inclusion of Manus-like features in the project has made it especially sensitive, as the Chinese government ordered the unwinding of the deal in April and Meta subsequently cut off the tool’s access to its internal systems while working through its response.

Dalton Smith said in her memo that her team was expecting the new features to be available inside Metamate as of June 1.

In her announcement on Wednesday, she said that she would stay on at Meta to work with Bosworth on transitioning the team to “what’s next,” without elaborating.

भारत रनों के लिहाज से अफगानिस्तान के खिलाफ दूसरी सबसे बड़ी जीत दर्ज करने वाला देश बन गया है. टीम इंडिया ने बुधवार को भारत रत्न श्री अटल बिहारी वाजपेयी इकाना क्रिकेट स्टेडियम में खेले गए दूसरे वनडे मैच को 170 रन से अपने नाम किया.

अफगानिस्तान के खिलाफ सबसे बड़ी जीत दर्ज करने का रिकॉर्ड ऑस्ट्रेलिया के नाम है, जिसने साल 2015 में पर्थ में खेला गया मैच 275 रन से अपने नाम किया था. तीसरे स्थान पर मौजूद श्रीलंका ने साल 2024 में इस टीम को 155 रन से शिकस्त दी थी. जिम्बाब्वे ने साल 2018 में अफगानिस्तान के खिलाफ 154 रन से जीत दर्ज की थी, जबकि स्कॉटलैंड ने साल 2015 में 150 रन से मुकाबला अपने नाम किया. इंग्लैंड की टीम साल 2019 में अफगानिस्तान को 150 रन से शिकस्त दे चुकी है.

NSE IPO may push exchange into India’s top 10 companies by market value

The proposed NSE’s IPO, expected to be around Rs 30,000 crore, is being seen as a major milestone for India’s capital markets.

The National Stock Exchange (NSE) is likely to enter the league of India’s 10 most-valued listed companies on its stock market debut, based on its valuation in the unlisted market.

The exchange’s proposed IPO is estimated at around Rs 30,000 crore, with market participants valuing NSE at over Rs 5 lakh crore in the unlisted space.

At this valuation, NSE could rank among the country’s top-10 listed firms by market capitalisation, surpassing several blue-chip companies.

Given its estimated valuation, NSE would rank ahead of Infosys, which has a market capitalisation of Rs 4.7 lakh crore as on Wednesday.

NSE valuation places it alongside major blue-chip firms

Among companies in the Rs 5 lakh crore bracket, Bajaj Finance commands a market capitalisation of about Rs 5.96 lakh crore, followed by Larsen & Toubro at Rs 5.78 lakh crore, Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) at Rs 5.28 lakh crore and Hindustan Unilever at Rs 5.16 lakh crore, data with the exchanges showed.

No listed company currently has a market value in the Rs 6 lakh crore to Rs 7 lakh crore range. Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) commands a market capitalisation of Rs 8 lakh crore.

As of June 17, Reliance Industries remained India’s most valuable company, commanding a market capitalisation of over Rs 18 lakh crore. This was followed by HDFC Bank at Rs 12.11 lakh crore.

Bharti Airtel has a market capitalisation of Rs 11.43 lakh crore, and ICICI Bank has a market capitalisation of Rs 9.6 lakh crore.

IPO expected to draw global investor interest

NSE’s draft papers filing marks a significant milestone for Indian capital markets and is expected to attract strong interest from global investors.

“NSE’s proposed DRHP filing is a landmark development for Indian markets and is likely to be viewed by international investors as a high-quality opportunity to participate in India’s financial market infrastructure story. NSE represents scale, technology, liquidity and institutional trust,” Mrugank Paranjape – Managing Partner, MCQube, said.

Listing to offer direct participation in India’s market infrastructure growth

The bourse, which dominates equity and derivatives trading in India, has long been among the country’s most valuable unlisted entities.

Its listing is expected to provide investors an opportunity to participate directly in the growth of India’s largest stock exchange operator.
