Shubman Gill, the Gujarat Titans (GT) skipper, etched his name into the franchise’s record books during the high-stakes encounter against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Thursday.

The 26-year-old Gill achieved the landmark in spectacular fashion while chasing a target of 156 for his side. Coming in at the top of the order, the India captain announced his intent early, smashing a four and a six off Bhuvneshwar Kumar in the very first over. The GT skipper then unleashed a brutal assault on Josh Hazlewood in the second over, plundering 24 runs – a sequence that included two fours and two sixes.

During his onslaught against RCB bowlers, Shubman became the first player to smash 100 sixes for the Gujarat Titans in IPL history. He scored 43 off just 18 balls before being dismissed by Bhuvneshwar, with Virat Kohli producing an animated send-off at covers.

A Franchise Legend In The Making

The latest milestone underscores Shubman Gill’s dominant performance for Gujarat Titans in the IPL over the last few years. Since being drafted by the Gujarat Titans ahead of their debut in 2022, Gill has been the undisputed pillar of the team’s batting order.

While he is often known for his orthodox strokeplay and grounded boundaries, his evolution into a formidable six-hitter has been a key driver of GT’s success.

As GT’s highest run-getter in IPL history, he has now cleared the ropes 100 times for the team in just 68 matches. For context, the next highest is Sai Sudharsan with 69 sixes.

Overall in the IPL, Gill has 136 career sixes, reflecting his evolution from a stylish opener to a complete modern batter capable of explosive starts.

His rapid 35 off 10 balls in this innings also set a new record for the highest score by a Gujarat Titans batter in the first 10 deliveries of an innings, surpassing a previous mark held by Hardik Pandya.

‘Cannot be brushed under carpet’: R Ashwin sends strong message to Riyan Parag after viral vaping controversy

Former India off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin reacted to Rajasthan Royals skipper Riyan Parag’s vaping incident and said that such situations could have been avoidable and stressed that it could not be brushed under the carpet.

Parag was allegedly caught vaping inside dressing room when the cameras were panned towards the dressing room during RR’s chase against Punjab Kings. The footage went viral instantly, sparking debates over player discipline and the legality of such devices under Indian law.

“I think this is totally a situation that could have been avoided. I want players not to get trapped in such things. I don’t really want that for a young player, and this is a little sensitive, too. I think, on all quadrants, if we look at so many things, this could have been avoided.” Ashwin said on his YouTube channel.

“Sometimes what happens is it’s a personal choice, but your personal choice should be in your personal space. If you do all this in a public space, that can very well be avoided. All I would say is this: it’s my small advice as an elder brother. I want to tell Riyan Parag that, whatever happens in your personal life, nobody has any concern about it.

“Nobody can say anything about that. But whatever you do, do it in your personal space, because you are a captain, you are a franchise leader. You are probably an inspiration for many cricketers, many youth, many young Indians, and young people around the world. So there is some responsibility too,” he added.

Later, Parag was fined 25 percent of his match fee and handed a demerit point. A statement from the IPL on Thursday said Parag admitted to breaching Level 1 of the IPL’s Code of Conduct, which covers ‘conduct that brings the game into disrepute.’

Ashwin further stressed that such incidents could not be brushed under the carpet, noting that “if action isn’t taken, nobody will learn from it.”

“I have my deepest empathy and sympathy for the young kid, but at the same time, I totally believe all these things should and can be avoided. It can’t be easy, man. In today’s world, I also sometimes read things and think, man, I mean, sometimes this happens. I’m not saying these things should be let go under the carpet, because if action isn’t taken, nobody will learn from it. But it is better to avoid these things,” he concluded.

MI Star Mitchell Santner sidelined for this duration due to ACL injury

New Zealand all-rounder and white-ball captain Mitchell Santner is set to be sidelined for at least a month after scans revealed a grade three ACL shoulder injury, New Zealand Cricket (NZC) said on Friday.

Santner injured his left shoulder while fielding for his Indian Premier League side Mumbai Indians in their recent match against the Chennai Super Kings. He was spotted in the dressing room with an ice pack around his shoulder during the chase as MI used a concussion substitute for him.

Santner first sustained a niggle to his non-bowling shoulder while fielding in the game against Delhi Capitals on April 4 and sat out of the match against Rajasthan Royals on April 7. He featured against Royal Challengers Bengaluru on April 12 and also played against Gujarat Titans on April 20 but suffered another injury to the same shoulder while fielding against CSK and was thus ruled out of the tournament.

The five-time winner MI signed South African left-arm spinner Keshav Maharaj as a replacement for Santner, who has played four matches for the Mumbai Indians in IPL 2026, claiming five wickets for 125 runs.

The 34-year-old allrounder returned home to New Zealand this week and saw a specialist this morning who confirmed a rest and rehabilitation period of at least one month, NZC said.

The diagnosis means Santner is unavailable for the one-off Test against Ireland and the first Test against England, with his availability for the second and third Tests to be evaluated at a later date.

The one-off four day Test against Ireland begins at Stormont in Belfast on May 27, with the three Tests against England to be played at Lord’s (June 4-8), The Oval (June 17-21) and Trent Bridge (June 25-29), respectively.

NZC said that the full squad for the Ireland and England Tests is set to be named in the coming days.

New Zealand’s next white-ball assignment is an ODI and T20I tour to the West Indies in July.

श्रीलंका क्रिकेट से शर्मसार करने देने वाली खबर सामने आई है. पुलिस ने श्रीलंका की अंडर-19 टीम के 2 खिलाड़ियों को गिरफ्तार किया है, जो होटल के बाथरूम में छिपकर महिलाओं की वीडियो रिकॉर्ड कर रहे थे. ये मामला कोलंबो के नराहेंपिटा क्षेत्र का है. पुलिस मामले की जांच कर रही है और पता लगा रही है कि कहीं इन खिलाड़ियों ने वीडियो को ऑनलाइन शेयर या अपलोड तो नहीं किया.

जिस होटल में श्रीलंका की अंडर-19 टीम रुकी थी, वहां एक मेडिकल कॉन्फ्रेंस भी थी और इसके लिए वहां कई महिला डॉक्टर्स आईं थी. इन महिला डॉक्टर्स ने शिकायत की थी कि जब वह बाथरूम में नहा रही थीं तब किसी ने छिपकर मोबाइल फोन से उनके वीडियो रिकॉर्ड किए हैं. पुलिस ने जांच शुरू की तो पता चला कि वीडियो बनाने वालों में 2 अंडर-19 टीम के क्रिकेटर हैं.

क्रिकेटर्स को मिली जमानत

नराहेंपिटा पुलिस ने दोनों युवा क्रिकेटर्स को गिरफ्तार किया. पुलिस ने उन्हें अदालत में पेश किया, जहां से उन्हें बड़ी राहत मिली. दोनों को 5-5 लाख श्रीलंकाई रुपये देने के बाद जमानत मिल गई. पुलिस पता लगा रही है कि इन क्रिकेटर्स ने महिलाओं के नहाते हुए जो वीडियो बनाए, उन्हें किसी वेबसाइट पर तो अपलोड नहीं किया. या सोशल मीडिया प्लेटफॉर्म से किसी को शेयर तो नहीं किया.

मामले की अगली सुनवाई आने वाली 25 तारीख (मई) को है. श्रीलंका क्रिकेट बोर्ड की तरफ से अभी इस मामले में कोई आधिकारिक बयान नहीं आया है. न ही उनके खिलाफ कोई कार्यवाई की खबर है. माना जा रहा है कि बोर्ड कानूनी प्रक्रिया का इंतजार कर रहा है.

श्रीलंका क्रिकेट बोर्ड अभी बदलाव के दौर में है, कुछ दिन पहले ही बोर्ड के अध्यक्ष शम्मी सिल्वा और पूरी कार्यकारी समिति ने इस्तीफा दे दिया था. अब सरकार ने नई ट्रांसफॉर्मेशन कमेटी बनाई है, जिसमे कुमार संगाकारा भी शामिल है. श्रीलंका क्रिकेट की छवि को सुधारने के लिए बनी इस कमेटी के सामने ये स्कैंडल एक और नई चुनौती बनकर खड़ी हो गई.

GT vs RCB Full Match Highlights: गुजरात टाइटंस ने रॉयल चैलेंजर्स बेंगलुरू को 4 विकेट से हरा दिया है. नरेंद्र मोदी स्टेडियम में खेले गए इस मुकाबले में भुवनेश्वर कुमार के ऐतिहासिक प्रदर्शन के बावजूद बेंगलुरु की टीम जीत दर्ज नहीं कर पाई. भुवनेश्वर ने इस मुकाबले में तीन विकेट चटकाए. उन्होंने अपने टी20 करियर में 350 विकेट का आंकड़ा छू लिया है.

टॉस हारने के बाद बेंगलुरू की टीम पहले बल्लेबाजी करने आई थी. विराट कोहली ने 28 रन बनाए और देवदत्त पडिक्कल ने 40 रन बनाए. RCB के अन्य सभी बल्लेबाज फ्लॉप रहे. टीम जैसे-तैसे 155 रनों के आंकड़े तक पहुंच पाई.

भुवनेश्वर कुमार ने रचा इतिहास

इस मुकाबले में साई सुदर्शन का विकेट लेते ही भुवनेश्वर कुमार ने अपने टी20 करियर में 350 विकेट का आंकड़ा छू लिया था. वो टी20 क्रिकेट में युजवेन्द्र चहल के बाद ऐसा करने वाले दूसरे भारतीय हैं. भुवनेश्वर कुमार ने अपने 325वें मैच में 350 विकेट पूरे किए. गुजरात टाइटंस के खिलाफ मैच में उन्होंने साई सुदर्शन, शुभमन गिल और जोस बटलर का विकेट लिया. जिससे उनके कुल टी20 विकेट का आंकड़ा 352 पर पहुंच गया है.

गुजरात की पांचवीं जीत

यह गुजरात टाइटंस की IPL 2026 सीजन में पांचवीं जीत रही, जिसके बाद वह पॉइंट्स टेबल में 10 अंकों के साथ पांचवें स्थान पर आ गई है. वहीं RCB ने दूसरा स्थान कायम रखा है.

गुजरात की टीम जब 156 रनों के लक्ष्य का पीछा करने आई तो साई सुदर्शन जल्दी आउट हो गए थे, लेकिन कप्तान शुभमन गिल ने बल्ले से तबाही मचाते हुए 18 गेंद में 43 रनों की पारी खेली. विराट कोहली ने अविश्वसनीय कैच पकड़ कर गिल को आउट करने में अपना योगदान दिया. जोस बटलर ने 19 गेंद में 39 रन बनाए.

अंत में इम्पैक्ट प्लेयर के तौर पर आए राहुल तेवतिया ने 17 गेंद में नाबाद 27 रन बनाकर गुजरात की सीजन में पांचवीं जीत सुनिश्चित की. गुजरात के लिए यह इसलिए भी बड़ी जीत रही क्योंकि उसने 25 गेंद शेष रहते लक्ष्य को हासिल कर लिया. इससे उसे नेट रन-रेट में भी फायदा मिला होगा.

विराट कोहली मैदान पर कितने जुनून से भरे होते हैं, इससे पूरा क्रिकेट जगत वाकिफ है. कुछ ऐसा ही क्षण IPL 2026 के रॉयल चैलेंजर्स बेंगलुरू बनाम गुजरात टाइटंस मैच में देखने को मिला. शुभमन गिल का कैच लपकने के बाद विराट बहुत जोशीले अंदाज में चिल्लाते दिखे. कैच लपकने के बाद उन्होंने जो कहा, वह कैमरे में भी कैद हो गया. विराट का यह वीडियो सोशल मीडिया पर खूब वायरल हो रहा है.

RCB ने पहले बल्लेबाजी करते हुए 155 रन बनाए थे. जवाब में गुजरात टाइटंस के कप्तान शुभमन गिल तेजी से रन बना रहे थे और आउट होने से पहले 17 गेंद में 43 रन बना चुके थे. इसलिए जब पांचवें ओवर की अंतिम गेंद पर विराट कोहली ने गिल का कैच लपका तो विराट जोश से भरे नजर आए.

विराट ने शुभमन गिल को घूरा

शुभमन गिल बहुत ताबड़तोड़ अंदाज में बैटिंग कर रहे थे. पारी का पांचवां ओवर भुवनेश्वर कुमार करने आए. ओवर की आखिरी गेंद पर गिल ने बहुत बढ़िया टाइमिंग से शॉट लगाया था, लेकिन उनकी किस्मत इतनी खराब रही कि गेंद सीधी विराट कोहली के हाथों में जा फंसी.

चूंकि गेंद बहुत तेज रफ्तार से जा रही थी, लेकिन विराट कोहली ने सजगता दिखाते हुए उसे आसान बना दिया. कैच पूरा करने के बाद विराट ने पहले शुभमन गिल को घूरा और फिर अंग्रेजी में ‘come on’ कहा.

इस मैच में विराट कोहली का व्यक्तिगत प्रदर्शन कुछ खास नहीं रहा. उन्होंने RCB को बढ़िया और तेजतर्रार शुरुआत दिलाई थी, लेकिन 13 गेंद में 28 रन बनाकर आउट हो गए. बता दें कि विराट ने इस सीजन अब तक 9 मैचों में 379 रन बना लिए हैं.
