Speaking after the match, Suryavanshi revealed that his performance was built on meticulous preparation rather than momentary fame. He explained that arriving at the venue a day early allowed him to settle in and understand the conditions better.

“For me, it was all about preparation. We came a day early and had a really good practice session before the match, which helped a lot. My plan was simple. I tried to bat as long as I could. Since the wicket was new, I spent the first ten balls just trying to read it properly, and once I understood the pace and bounce, I began to attack. I have been working on my unorthodox shots in practice and I even managed to play a few of them today. I want to keep expanding my range,” Suryavanshi said.

Suryavanshi’s explosive 171 off 95 balls, featuring 14 sixes, was a blend of early patience and ruthless acceleration. His 212-run partnership with Aaron George propelled India to 433 for 6, the highest total ever recorded by India in Under-19 ODIs.

The massive score proved far beyond the UAE’s reach, as the hosts managed 199 for 7, suffering a heavy defeat. Addressing on-field chatter and remarks about his background, Suryavanshi remained unfazed. “I come from Bihar, and honestly, that does not matter much out there. You always hear things from behind the stumps, but I just focused on my own game. I see everything, I hear everything, and sure, it makes me smile sometimes, but it does not really affect me.”

The tour has been planned as a grand pan-India celebration, beginning in the East and South on December 13 (Kolkata and Hyderabad), moving to the West in Mumbai on December 14, and culminating in the North with Delhi on December 15.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) and JioStar have reaffirmed their long-term partnership and refuted any rumours that the broadcaster was considering prematurely exiting its four-year its four-year media rights agreement for ICC events in India.

The speculation, which intensified earlier this week, had suggested that JioStar might withdraw from the remaining years of its contract due to financial concerns. However, the joint statement, released on Friday, categorically rejected these reports, assuring cricket fans and industry partners that the partnership remains fully intact.

“The International Cricket Council (ICC) and JioStar have noted recent media reports concerning the status of the ICC’s media rights agreement in India. These reports do not reflect the position of either organisation. The existing agreement between the ICC and JioStar remains fully in force, and JioStar continues as the ICC’s official media rights partner in India. Any suggestion that JioStar has withdrawn from the agreement is incorrect,” the joint statement from ICC and JioStar read on Friday.

It further stated, “JioStar is fully committed to honour its contractual obligations in letter and spirit. Both organisations remain focused on delivering uninterrupted, world-class coverage of upcoming ICC events to fans across India, including the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, one of the sport’s most anticipated global tournaments”

No Impact On Advertisers And Industry Partners

According to the ICC and JioStar, advertisers and industry partners will not be impacted since both parties are taking the necessary action.

“Preparations for these events are progressing exactly as planned, and there is no impact on viewers, advertisers, or industry partners. ICC and JioStar, as long-term commercial partners, maintain regular communication on operational, commercial and strategic matters focused on the role the partnership can play in growing the sport.”

Notably, JioStar paid USD 3 billion to acquire the ICC’s media rights agreement from 2024 to 2027, guaranteeing the hosting of one major men’s international event annually.

The joint declaration is expected to put an end to the uncertainty and provide stability ahead of the 2026 T20 World Cup, ensuring seamless streaming and TV coverage in India – the world’s largest cricket market.

It is also likely to provide clarity and confidence to the sports broadcasting industry, advertisers, and millions of cricket fans across India.

Assam Cricket Association Suspends Four Players For Corrupt Practice, Illegal Approach To SMAT 2025 Players; Check Details

The Assam Cricket Association (ACA) has suspended four players, who have represented Assam at various stages, with immediate effect after allegations emerged that they were involved in corrupt practices and attempting to influence and instigate some of the current Assam team players.

The four players – Amit Sinha, Ishan Ahmed, Aman Tripathi and Abhishek Thakuri – are accused of trying to influence players who took part in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2025 held in Lucknow from November 26 to December 8.

Following the emergence of these allegations, the Anti-Corruption and Security Unit (ACSU) of the BCCI conducted an inquiry. The Assam Cricket Association has also initiated criminal proceedings in this matter.

“Prima facie, there appears to be involvement of the aforementioned four players in serious misconduct, affecting the integrity of the sport,” the ACA informed in a release on Friday.

“The players were suspended to curtail any scope of further deterioration of the situation,” the release informed.

Accordingly, during the suspension period, the players are barred from taking part in any state-level tournament or match conducted under the Assam Cricket Association, District Units, or affiliated clubs, besides participating in any cricket-related activity, including officiating as match referee, coach, umpire etc.

The suspension will continue until the final outcome of the investigation and/or any further decision of the Association,” the release said.

The Assam Cricket Association also directed all district associations to ensure strict compliance with this order and to inform clubs and cricket academies under their jurisdiction of the necessary action.

In the release, the association also reiterated its commitment to safeguarding the integrity and spirit of the sport and will continue to uphold the highest standards of transparency, discipline, and ethical conduct.

The Assam Cricket Association has also lodged an FIR at the Crime Branch, Guwahati, against the said four players on Friday (December 12, 2025).
