Amazon Great Republic Day sale

Amazon India has announced “Great Republic Day Sale” from January 13 until January 18 in which the e-commerce platform is offering discounts of up to 40 per cent on smartphones from brands such as Apple, Samsung, and OnePlus. Besides, the platform is offering other benefits such as up to 12-month no-interest equated monthly instalment option on select smartphone models. Below are the details:


Apple


The iPhone 13, currently priced at Rs 52,999 onwards on the e-commerce platform, will be available at Rs 49,999 with discount offers on select bank cards.  


Samsung


Customers can avail discounts of up to Rs 10,000 using select bank cards on purchase of select Samsung Galaxy smartphones. Additionally, Amazon is offering an exchange bonus of up to Rs 8,000 in trade-in deals that is available with the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra and Samsung Galaxy Flip5 5G. With bank discounts and coupon offers, the Samsung Galaxy M14 smartphone will be available at Rs 9,649 onwards during the sale.

OnePlus


There are discounts of up to Rs 5,000 on use of select bank cards. With bank offers and coupon discounts, the OnePlus Nord CE 3 lite 5G will be available at Rs 17,499 onwards. Moreover, Amazon India is offering an exchange bonus of up to Rs 10,000 on trade-in deals towards the OnePlus Open foldable smartphone.


Realme


Select Realme smartphones will be available with bank discounts of up to Rs 2,740, applicable on select bank cards. Amazon is offering a coupon discount of up to Rs 2,000 on select Realme smartphones. The Realme N-series smartphones such as N55 and N53 will be available at a discounted price of Rs 9,499 and Rs 8,999, respectively. The Realme Narzo 60x smartphone will be available at Rs 12,499 onwards, including coupon offers from Amazon India.


LAVA


Launched at Rs 13,499, the Lava Storm 5G smartphone will be available at a discounted price of Rs 11,999. The LAVA Agni 2 and LAVA Blaze 5G smartphones will be available with bank offers.

Others

OPPO Reno 11 Pro Rock Grey

Chinese Smartphone maker OPPO on January 12 launched in India the Reno 11 series smartphones. The series encompasses OPPO Reno11 Pro 5G and Reno11 5G smartphones. Priced at Rs 39,999 the OPPO Reno11 Pro 5G is offered in 12GB RAM and 256GB on-board storage configuration. The vanilla model, on the other hand, is offered in 128GB and 256GB storages, both with 8GB RAM, at Rs 29,999 and Rs 31,999, respectively.


OPPO is offering the Pro model in Pearl White and Rock Grey colours, and the base model in Wave Green and Rock Grey colours. Both smartphones are now available for pre-orders on OPPO online store, e-commerce platform Flipkart, and at select retail outlets. The OPPO Reno11 Pro 5G will be available from January 18 and the base variant from January 25.

Meta’s instant messaging platform WhatsApp has announced that iOS users will now be able to create, edit, and share stickers directly from the app. The iOS app gets the auto-crop function alongside multiple editing options such as the option to add text, draw, and overlay stickers. Once shared, the stickers automatically get saved in the sticker tray for future sharing.


Prior to this addition, users had to drag-and-drop stickers from the gallery or use third-party applications to generate stickers on WhatsApp for iOS. The option to create stickers is already available on WhatsApp web and is now gradually rolling out on iPhones based on iOS 17. WhatsApp confirmed that devices with older iOS versions will only receive the option to edit existing stickers but not to create new ones.


WhatsApp has not confirmed the availability of the feature for Android devices.


How-to create stickers


  • Open WhatsApp on an iOS device and tap on any conversation


  • Tap on the sticker icon to the right of the text box to open your sticker tray


  • Select the ‘create sticker’ option and choose an image from your gallery


  • Customise your sticker by choosing a cutout and adding text, other stickers or drawing on it


  • Tap on send to share the sticker


How-to edit existing stickers


  • Open your sticker tray by selecting the sticker icon to the right of the text box


  • Long press the sticker you wish to edit, and select ‘edit sticker’


  • Tap on the text icon on the top right corner to add text to stickers, Choose between multiple fonts and colours


  • Tap on the sticker option right next to the text icon to overlay another existing sticker from your sticker tray


  • Tap on send to share the sticker

London-based consumer technology start-up Nothing on January 11 announced offers and discounts on Phone (2) smartphone and CMF Power 65 GaN charging adapter that would go live from January 14 on e-commerce platform Flipkart’s Republic Day sale 2024. In the sale, the Phone (2) would receive a discount of up to Rs 10,000.


Launched at Rs 44,999 for the 12GB RAM + 128GB storage, the Phone (2) would be available at a discounted price of Rs 34,999. Similar discounts would be available on other variants too, but Nothing has not confirmed exact discounts on each variant as yet. As for the CMF Power 65W GaN, launched at Rs 2,999, the charging adaptor would be available at a discounted price of Rs 1,999.


Besides the discounts, Nothing is offering bank offers with up to Rs 2,000 discount on ICICI bank cards and up to Rs 3,000 exchange bonus on trade-in deals.

CMF Power 65W GaN Charger: Details


The CMF Power 65W GaN Charger features two USB-C Ports and a USB-A port for power delivery. The charger supports a maximum of 65W power output through the USB-C ports, while  supporting a maximum of 36W through the USB-A port. When using multiple ports simultaneously, the USB-C1 port gets the priority as it delivers 45W while the USB-C2 port peaks out at 20W. The USB-A, when used together with USB-C1, delivers 18W of peak power. The combination of USB C2 and USB A allows 15W power delivery through each of the ports.

Chinese smartphone brand POCO on January 11 launched in India the POCO X6 series. The series encompasses POCOC X6 5G and POCO X6 Pro 5G with the latter featuring MediaTek Dimensity 8300-Ultra system-on-chip and Android 14 operating system-based Xiaomi HyperOS.
