The new GoPro HERO is priced at Rs 23,990 and is now available for purchase on e-commerce platform Flipkart, and through select retailers, including Croma and Reliance Digital.
GoPro HERO: Details
GoPro stated that the HERO is their smallest and lightest 4K camera, weighing 86g, with 35% less volume and 46% less mass than the HERO13 Black. It has a rugged construction designed for durability in all weather and environmental conditions and is waterproof up to 5 metres. The company also said that the camera features an easy-to-use interface with a LCD touch screen and one-button control for switching between multiple camera modes.

GoPro also said that the camera’s battery allows for continuous video recording of over an hour at the highest setting on a single charge.

Iconic designer Jony Ive has recruited another Apple veteran to work on AI devices | Photo: Bloomberg
2 min read Last Updated : Sep 23 2024 | 12:58 PM IST
Jony Ive, who resigned from his designer role at Apple five years ago, is collaborating with OpenAI CEO Sam Altman on an AI hardware project. This collaboration was confirmed today in a profile of Ive in The New York Times, nearly a year after initial reports suggested a partnership between Altman and the longtime Apple designer. The profile describes the goal as creating “a product that uses A.I. to deliver a computing experience that is less socially disruptive than the iPhone.”
The venture is being funded by Ive and the Emerson Collective, Laurene Powell Jobs’ company. According to The Times, the project is expected to raise $1 billion in funding by the end of the year.
The project currently has only 10 employees, including Tang Tan and Evans Hankey, two key figures who collaborated with Ive on the iPhone. According to the report, LoveFrom, Ive’s company, is leading the device’s design. The team is reportedly working from a 32,000-square-foot office building in San Francisco, part of a $90 million strip of real estate that Ive has acquired on a single city block.
Marc Newson, cofounder of LoveFrom, told The Times that the specifics of the AI product and its launch timing are still being determined, reports The Verge. Previous rumours suggested that the product would be inspired by the original iPhone and touchscreen technology.
Jony Ive joined Apple in 1992 and designed the first iPhone. As chief design officer, he was responsible for all hardware, user interface, and packaging design, as well as major architectural projects like Apple Park and Apple retail stores. He led the design team for over two decades, creating the iMac, PowerBook, MacBook, iBook, iPod, iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, AirPods, and HomePod.

Apple might introduce its ProMotion technology, which enables a 120Hz refresh rate, to base iPhone models with the iPhone 17 series. According to a report by Android Headlines, Ross Young, CEO of Display Supply Chain Consultants (DSCC), said that next year’s base iPhone models will feature displays with a 120Hz refresh rate.
Until now, Apple has kept ProMotion technology exclusive to its Pro models. With the iPhone 16 series, Apple narrowed the gap between the standard and Pro models by equipping both with the same generation processors and introducing features like the Camera Control button without differentiation. However, the 120Hz refresh rate remains limited to the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max models.
According to Young, this could change in 2025, with Apple set to add higher refresh rate displays to the iPhone 17 and the anticipated iPhone 17 “Slim.” The Slim variant is expected to replace the Plus variant in the iPhone lineup and will likely feature a sleek design similar to the new M4 iPad Pro.
It was previously reported that the iPhone 17 Slim might feature under-display Face ID sensors, which would significantly reduce the size of the Dynamic Island. However, Young reportedly stated that this technology is not scheduled for next year’s iPhone models.
Meanwhile, Apple recently launched the iPhone 16 series in India. The new models are available with bank offers, equated monthly instalment (EMI) options, and a trade-in program via the Apple Store online and its retail outlets in BKC, Mumbai, and Saket, Delhi. The new iPhones are also available through Apple’s partner retailers, including Amazon, Flipkart, and Reliance Digital.

Samsung is reportedly expected to launch the Galaxy S24 FE, although there is no official confirmation yet. The South Korean smartphone maker has begun the pre-reserve process for its upcoming flagship Galaxy Tab S10 series, with the pre-reservation period ending on September 24. The Galaxy Tab S10 series is expected to be unveiled on September 26, and the Galaxy S24 FE may debut alongside it.
The Galaxy S24 FE is a Fan Edition smartphone that offers features similar to the mainline Galaxy S series but at a more affordable price due to minor downgrades. Previous leaks have suggested the codename (R12), colours, specifications, and launch window. According to The Verge, the smartphone’s model number (SM-S721U) was spotted in EE’s database (a UK carrier) as well as on the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) certification website under the model number (SM-S721B/DS). Additionally, the smartphone appeared on the Bluetooth SIG website and the FCC in August, listed with the model numbers SM-S721U and SM-S721B/DS, respectively. A support page for the model number was briefly listed on Samsung France’s website.
Samsung Galaxy S24 FE: What to Expect
The Samsung Galaxy S24 FE is expected to be powered by a Snapdragon chipset or a Exynos 2400 chip, with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. Samsung has previously followed the dual chip strategy by offering Snapdragon chipset in some region while offering its Exynos chipset in others, similar strategy could be followed for S24 FE as well.
The Galaxy S24 FE is likely to feature a 6.7-inch FHD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate and brightness of up to 1,900 nits. The display will be surrounded by a 1.99 mm bezel.
According to the previous leaks, the Galaxy S24 FE is expected to feature a design similar to the S23 FE, with a three-rear-camera setup and a front-facing selfie camera. The primary camera is anticipated to be 50MP, accompanied by a 12MP ultrawide camera and an 8MP 3x optical zoom lens. A 10MP selfie camera is also expected. Based on leaked details from Android Headlines, the S24 FE is expected to be protected by Gorilla Glass Victus Plus on both the front and back. The phone’s body might be encased in an aluminium frame with a polished finish.
The device is anticipated to measure 162 x 77.3 x 8 mm and will likely be available in light green, yellow, light blue, grey, and black. For context, last year’s FE smartphone was offered two colours that were exclusive to Samsung’s store.

Apple might release certain advanced Siri features sooner than expected. According to a Bloomberg report, Apple is considering rolling out some voice assistant functions with iOS 18.3, originally planned for iOS 18.4.
iOS 18.1, which introduces the first set of Apple Intelligence features, is scheduled for release in October. The next major update, iOS 18.4, is anticipated for release in March 2025. It was expected to bring significant upgrades to Siri, including improved natural language processing, broader system-wide control to handle more complicated user requests, and enhanced ability to interpret on-screen content. However, some of these features could now be released earlier, with iOS 18.3 in January.
“The biggest iOS 18 update after iOS 18.1 will be iOS 18.4, which will include many of the new Siri features (some are in consideration for iOS 18.3, I’m told),” said Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman in his report.
Apple has already released the first public beta of iOS 18.1, introducing Apple Intelligence to compatible iPhone models. However, public beta users are required to join a waitlist to access these features. Some of the key functions include system-wide AI-powered writing tools, AI-generated notification summaries, a clean-up tool in Photos to remove unwanted objects, webpage summaries in Safari, and more.
More advanced Apple Intelligence features are expected to roll out in subsequent iOS 18 updates. These include Genmoji, which allows users to create custom emojis using AI, an Image Playground app for generating images from text prompts, and integration with OpenAI’s ChatGPT, likely with iOS 18.2 in December. iOS 18.3 is expected to complete beta testing by February, with a public release scheduled for March.

Microsoft is working on allowing users personalise the Copilot key on Windows 11. Copilot key has begun appearing on new laptops and keyboards. The Copilot key is set by default to open Microsoft’s Copilot app on Windows 11, but the company is currently testing the option to allow it to launch different apps instead.
A new beta version of Windows 11 features the customisation updates, available for testers starting today.
“We are adding the ability to configure the Copilot key. You can choose to have the Copilot key launch an app that is MSIX packaged and signed, thus indicating the app meets security and privacy requirements to keep customers safe. The key will continue to launch Copilot on devices that have the Copilot app installed until a customer selects a different experience.” reads Windows Insider blog.
Users can find this setting by navigating to “Settings,” then “Personalisation,” and “Text Input.” The keyboard linked to the PC must have a Copilot key.
This change aims to promote its AI assistant among Windows users and represents a major alteration to Windows keyboards in 30 years.
Earlier this year, new Copilot Plus PCs began shipping with the key. However Microsoft has made the Copilot experience less effective on these devices by converting it into a web app in the latest 24H2 update for Windows 11. The web app version is no longer included in Windows 11 settings, so users cannot utilise the AI assistant to control settings.
The availability of personalisation for the Copilot key to beta testers of Windows 11 suggest that it may soon be available for all Windows 11 users.
