Chinese smartphone maker on Tuesday announced India pricing, launch offers, and availability details of its premium camera-focused smartphone, the 13 Pro. Launched globally at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2023 in Barcelona, the premium smartphone with camera system co-engineered with Leica would be available for purchase in India on March 10. Priced at Rs 79,999, the smartphone will be available in 12GB RAM and 256GB on-board storage configuration on India website, Amazon India, Mi Home and Mi retail partner stores.

The Xiaomi 13 Pro will be available in limited stocks. It will be available with introductory offers, including up to Rs 12,000 exchange bonus exclusive to existing Xiaomi and Redmi smartphone owners. Ahead of the general availability, Xiaomi is offering a special early access sale on March 6 at 12 pm on Xiaomi website and select Xiaomi Homes and Mi Studios. Besides, Xiaomi is offering instant cashback of Rs 10,000 to ICICI Bank cardholders on the purchase of Xiaomi 13 Pro that brings down the effective cost of ownership to Rs 69,999.

Chip maker on Monday announced the latest addition to its growing Snapdragon Digital Chassis connected car technology portfolio with its Snapdragon Auto Modem-RF Gen 2 at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2023 in Barcelona.


Snapdragon Modem-RF systems are the world’s first commercial modem-to-antenna solution.


Sampling today with global automakers, it will be commercially available in late 2023, said the company.

The new Snapdragon Auto 5G Modem-RF Gen 2 platform will provide 50 per cent more processing power, 40 per cent power efficiency gains, and greater than two times the maximum throughput for secure, reliable and seamless connectivity, as compared to the previous generation.


Equipped with the latest advancements in 5G, car owners will now have the broadband to enjoy the comfort and convenient experiences of a vehicle, home and office in one space.


“5G will continue to unlock the future of automotive and transportation, and we’re proud to accelerate the pace of wireless innovation in these industries,” Duggal added.


Moreover, the Snapdragon Auto 5G Modem-RF Gen 2 will also introduce a new form of communication to the automotive industry with support for satellite communications, helping to ensure connectivity is ubiquitously available for applications that utilise two-way messaging.

Meta-owned messaging platform is reportedly rolling out a sticker maker tool on iOS, which will allow users to convert images into stickers.


The new feature eliminates the need for third-party applications to create stickers, reports WABetaInfo.


After extracting a subject out of an image, users just need to paste it within a chat to create a custom sticker from an image.


If the feature is available, the platform will instantly turn the image into a sticker that can be added to the user’s collection of stickers.


This tool was available to some users in the past few days, however, now it is rolling out to everyone on iOS 16.


Users now don’t have to switch between different applications or tools to create and use their own stickers.

Meta launches new platform to remove minors’ intimate images online







Meta has announced a new platform designed to proactively prevent young people and minors’ intimate images from spreading online.


The social network said it financially supported the National Center for Missing and Exploited (NCMEC) in the development of ‘Take It Down’, a platform that helps adults stop the spread of their intimate images online.


“We’ve also introduced some new features that make it more difficult for suspicious adults to interact with teens on Instagram,” said Antigone Davis, Global Head of Safety at Meta.


‘Take It Down’ lets young people take back control of their intimate images.


People can go to TakeItDown.NCMEC.org and follow the instructions to submit a case that will proactively search for their intimate images on participating apps.


The platform them assigns a unique hash value a” a numerical code a” to their image or video privately and directly from their own device.


“Once they submit the hash to NCMEC, companies like ours can use those hashes to find any copies of the image, take them down and prevent the content from being posted on our apps in the future,” said Meta.


With the launch of Take It Down, people of all ages can stop the spread of their intimate images online, including young people under 18 years old; parents or trusted adults on behalf of a young person and adults who are worried about images taken of them when they were under 18.


On Instagram, the company recently introduced new features to make it even more difficult for suspicious adults to interact with teens.


“Now, these adults will no longer be able to see teen accounts when scrolling through the list of people who have liked a post or when looking at an account’s Followers or Following list,” said the company.


If a suspicious adult follows a teen account, “we will send that teen a notification prompting them to review and remove the new follower”.


The company is also prompting teens to review and restrict their privacy settings.


“We’ve developed more than 30 tools to support the safety of teens and families across our apps, including supervision tools for parents and age-verification technology that helps teens have age-appropriate experiences online,” said Meta.
