Apple’s iPhone 15, 15 Plus likely to feature new camera bump: Report

Apple’s iPhone 15, 15 Plus likely to feature new camera bump: Report

Tech giant Apple’s upcoming 15 and 15 Plus smartphones will reportedly feature a new camera bump.

There are a number of possible reasons for this, reports GSMArena. It might be possible that the rumoured 48MP camera on smartphones will result in a different camera bump.

Another reason might be the expected change in design which is to feature a rounded back.

Earlier, it was reported that the tech giant is considering an 15 price cut which will apply to the base model as well as the Plus model.

It was also rumoured that the iPhone 15 smartphone will feature a ‘state of the art’ image sensor from Sony, for better low-light performance.

Moreover, the iPhone 15 is likely to feature a titanium chassis with curved rear edges, which will replace the existing squared-off design.

Android 14 may feature new settings for region-specific preferences

Android 14 may feature new settings for region-specific preferences

Tech giant is reportedly working on new settings for its upcoming system software update ‘Android 14’, which will allow users to set all regional preferences, removing the need to hop into every application’s settings menu.

A hidden system settings page was found in the Android 14 DP1 named “Regional Preferences,” reports Android Police.

It is expected to allow users to set up system-wide preferences for temperature units, calendar format, the first day of the week and number system.

With the new settings enabled, applications won’t have to ask for or make assumptions about users’ preferences.

However, users might still have the option to use the application default, so that the regional preferences won’t primarily control the app settings, the report said.

Last month, it was reported that Android 14 will start blocking the installation of applications that target outdated versions of Android to help reduce the potential for malware.

Meanwhile, another report mentioned that Google’s upcoming system software update

will change the Android devices’ share sheet.

Tech Giant Apple declines allegation for evading users’ privacy controls

Tech Giant Apple declines allegation for evading users’ privacy controls

Tech giant Apple has rubbished the allegation of evading the users’ privacy controls, and said that it has fixed a potential privacy vulnerability with iOS 16.3 and other updates.

Earlier this month, a report had mentioned that Apple Maps contained a security flaw that might have enabled an app to circumvent a user’s privacy settings, reports AppleInsider.

However, now, the iPhone maker has claimed no apps took advantage of the flaw.

“Last week, we issued an advisory for a privacy vulnerability that could only be exploited from unsandboxed apps on macOS. The codebase that we fixed is shared by iOS and iPadOS, tvOS, and watchOS, so the fix and advisory was propagated to those operating systems as well, despite the fact that they were never at risk,” Apple was quoted as saying.

“A report also incorrectly suggested an iOS app was exploiting this or another vulnerability to bypass user control over location data,” it added.

The company further mentioned that it investigated the allegation which concluded that the “app was not circumventing user controls through any mechanism.”

Twitter grows retweet reach, removes filter causing false negatives: Musk

Twitter grows retweet reach, removes filter causing false negatives: Musk

CEO on Monday said that the team “completed” several works “over night”, including improving the reach of retweets and “removed filter causing false negatives”.

Musk tweeted: “More work team completed over night.”

“Removed height penalty affecting tweets with pics/video, increased # of recommended tweets, better tracking of dropped tweets, removed filter causing false negatives, removed penalty if user follows author, improved reach of retweet,” he added.

Musk on Sunday said that the engineers resolved two significant problems on the micro-blogging platform during a “long day at HQ” with him.

He said that the ‘Fanout service for Following feed’ was getting overloaded when “I tweeted, resulting in up to 95 per cent of my tweets not getting delivered at all”.

Moreover, he said that the recommendation algorithm was using absolute block count, rather than percentile block count, “causing accounts with many followers to be dumped, even if blocks were only 0.1 per cent of followers”.

Musk also said that oversized fonts and undersized paragraph spacing will be fixed this week.
