Samsung’s new PC lineup features ‘AI Noise Canceling’, ‘Studio Mode’

Samsung has introduced its latest flagship PC lineup ‘Galaxy Book3’ which features ‘AI Noise Canceling’ to clearly capture user’s voice and reduce background noise, and ‘Studio Mode’ which offers improved visuals while video calling, and much more.

The company on Wednesday unveiled three models in the new laptop series — Galaxy Book3 Ultra, Book3 Pro 360 and Book3 Pro.

“The Galaxy Book3 Ultra will be available in 16-inch in Graphite, the Galaxy Book3 Pro will be available in 14-inch and 16-inch Graphite and Beige colour options and the Galaxy Book3 Pro 360 will be available in 16-inch with 5G connectivity options and Graphite and Beige colour options,” the tech giant said in a statement.

Galaxy Book3 Pro and Pro 360 will be available in select markets starting on February 17 followed by Galaxy Book3 Ultra starting on February 22.

While the Galaxy Book3 Ultra features ultra-high-performance computing, Book3 Pro 360 features a 2-in-1 convertible form factor with S Pen functionality and the Book3 Pro features a thin and light, “mobility-first clamshell design”.

The new Book3 series is designed for users who need seamless multi-device connectivity and premium hardware to supercharge their productivity and creativity.

“Today, we’re seeing an increasing number of people using multiple devices to perform efficiently. These new workflows are made possible thanks to our open and extensive Galaxy ecosystem,” said T.M. Roh, President and Head of Mobile eXperience Business, Samsung Electronics.

The series comes with an ‘Instant Hotspot’ which enables effortless connection to wireless hotspots with just a click.

The new laptops also have the ‘Samsung Multi Control’ feature which allows users to control their PC, Galaxy Tab and Galaxy smartphone with the Book3 series’ keyboard and trackpad, enabling them to copy and paste or drag-and-drop between devices.

Moreover, users can take high-quality images using ‘Expert RAW’ on their Galaxy smartphone, transfer them to the new laptops automatically and edit them with professional-level photo editing tools.

“Samsung is committed to the eco-conscious designs of the Galaxy Book3 Ultra and Pro series, furthering our efforts to preserve the planet for generations to come,” the tech giant said.

Galaxy Unpacked: Samsung unveils Galaxy S23 series with Snapdragon 8 Gen 2

South Korean tech conglomerate Samsung unveiled the Galaxy S23 smartphone series at its Galaxy Unpacked event on Wednesday.

The series consists of Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23 Plus and Galaxy S23 Ultra.

According to GSM Arena, a tech news-related outlet, the biggest upgrade for this generation is that all S23 phones will come with a Qualcomm chipset, officially known as the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy. This features higher clock speeds compared to the other 8 Gen 2 chipsets out there. The phones come with several storage configurations, but RAM is fixed at 8GB.

The Galaxy S23 series comes in four colour options: Phantom Black, Cream, Green and Lavender.

As per The Verge, an American technology news website, the S-Pen-equipped Galaxy S23 Ultra comes with small but notable upgrades, including a 200-megapixel camera sensor, a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip, and a more battery-efficient display. The base Ultra model now also comes with 256GB of storage.

Samsung’s Galaxy S23 and S23 Plus devices actually resemble the S23 Ultra this time around. They both ditch the camera bump for a floating camera design and even come in the same colors as the Ultra. Of course, the S23 and S23 Plus still aren’t as powerful as the flagship device, but they do come with some small chip, camera, and battery upgrades, The Verge reported.

Galaxy S23 has a 6.1 “display, the Galaxy S23+ comes with a 6.6” screen. Both of them have centred punch holes for the selfie camera and have a fingerprint reader tucked underneath.

The batteries on the S23 and S23+ are 200mAh larger than their predecessors, bringing the totals to 3,900mAh and 4,700mAh, respectively. Wired charging for the S23 is rated at 25W (30 minutes to 50%), for the S23+ at 45W (30 minutes to 65%), GSM Arena reported.

The S23 Ultra, on the other hand, offers a huge 6.8-inch OLED with a 120Hz top refresh rate and 1440p resolution.

S23 will be available in 8GB/128 GB, 8 GB/256 GB variants, S23+ in 8GB /256 GB, 8 GB / 512 GB variants and S23 ultra in 8GB / 256 GB, 12 GB/512 GB, and 12 GB/1 TB variants.

Samsung Galaxy S23 Series to be manufactured locally for Indian consumers

Samsung on Thursday said that all Galaxy S23 series smartphones sold in India will be manufactured at the company’s Noida factory.

The company added that it already fulfils a majority of the domestic demand in India through local manufacturing at the Noida factory.

All users can now request reinstatement of suspended accounts on Twitter

Elon Musk-run Twitter on Thursday announced that anyone can now appeal their account suspension.

The move is part of the announcement last week that Twitter will take “less severe actions” against user accounts that break its rules, asking them to remove controversial tweets and move on.

“Starting today, anyone can request that we review a suspended account for reinstatement under our new criteria,” said Twitter.

“We appreciate your patience as we work through a high volume of these requests,” it added.

Reinstated accounts, like all accounts on Twitter, still need to follow Twitter rules.

The company last week said it will only suspend Twitter accounts that engage in “severe or ongoing, repeat violations” of its rules.

“Going forward, we will take less severe actions, such as limiting the reach of policy-violating Tweets or asking you to remove Tweets before you can continue using your account,” the micro-blogging platform said.

Account suspension will be reserved for severe or ongoing, repeat violations of our policies, it added.

Severe violations include but are not limited to engaging in illegal content or activity, inciting or threatening violence or harm, privacy violations, platform manipulation or spam, and engaging in targeted harassment of users.

Twitter said it has been proactively reinstating previously suspended accounts.

The platform further said that it will continue to work on launching features that transparently identify when we have taken enforcement actions “and expect to begin rolling these out in February”.

All three smartphones in the Galaxy S23 series boast new design, enhanced protection and durability, and improved imaging experience. Samsung said its Galaxy S23 series is “a new standard with industry best and first innovations”.

The smartphones trade off the contour-cut camera housing around the lenses on the Galaxy S22 series for a clean and linear design. All models in the series come in four colours – phantom black, cream, green, and lavender. The smartphones boast Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection.

As for the features, these are the first Galaxy S-series smartphones to support 360-degree audio recording with Galaxy Buds2 Pro. The smartphones get a new Expert RAW app for cameras capable of using 50-megapixel mode for photography. Besides, there is a new ‘Astrophoto’ feature, which lets users capture distant stars and galaxies without requiring specialised equipment. Multiple exposure mode is another new addition to the imaging experience on the Galaxy S23 series.

Powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy processor, which is a slightly tweaked version of the regular processor, the smartphones boot One UI 5.1 interface with new features such as Samsung Notes integration in Google Meet for collaborative working.

Besides the above, the Galaxy S23 series brings improvement in displays too. The screens on all three models support ‘Advanced Vision Booster’, which allows automatic adjustments for colour enhancements and contrast at three different ambient lighting conditions throughout the day.
