In a recent incident adding to the growing list of controversies surrounding Justin Trudeau, the Canadian Prime Minister is now being trolled for raising India with various global leaders.

Justin Trudeau on Sunday discussed India ties with the king of Jordan amid a huge row over the killing of Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar.

“The Canadian Prime Minister spoke with King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein of Jordan on Sunday and he provided “an update on the situation between Canada and India, underscoring the importance of respecting the rule of law and the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations,” his office said in a statement.

This came hours after Justin Trudeau spoke to UAE president Mohamed Bin Zayed about India and the “rule of law”. “On the phone today, His Highness @MohamedBinZayed and I spoke about the current situation in Israel. We expressed our deep concern and discussed the need to protect civilian life. We also spoke about India and the importance of upholding – and respecting – the rule of law,” Justin Trudeau had posted on social networking platform X on Sunday.

On social media, reactions were hilarious and overwhelmingly negative – calling him out for ‘complaining’ about India. Several users shared hilarious memes on X – formerly known as Twitter.

    
The Canadian Prime Minister drew huge criticism earlier this month over a video in which he was seen sticking out his tongue and winking at the House speaker.

Last month, a huge row had erupted after the Canadian Parliament gave a standing ovation to a Ukrainian World War II veteran who had fought alongside the Nazis.

“It was a horrendous violation of the memory of the millions of people who died in the Holocaust, and was deeply, deeply painful for Jewish people.” Trudeau had said.

New Delhi:

The Delhi Police has beefed up security around the Israeli embassy and Chabad House in the wake of the Israel-Hamas conflict, an official said on Tuesday.

The local police stationed around the embassy in New Delhi and Chabad House, located in Chandni Chowk in central Delhi, has been directed to maintain a tight vigil, he said.

The officer added that authorities have directed to increase the vigil around both the installations.

Israel witnessed a surprise and unprecedented attack by Hamas, which rules the Gaza Strip, in its southern parts on Saturday morning. At least 700 people have been killed and more than 2,100 injured in Israel. In the Gaza Strip, there are nearly 500 deaths and over 2,000 wounded in Israel’s counterattack, according to reports.

Israel struck 500 Hamas targets overnight as the death count in the country’s war with Gaza climbed to more than 1,100.

More than 700 Israelis have been killed since Hamas launched a surprise attack on Saturday.

In retaliation, Israeli air strikes have hammered the impoverished and blockaded Gaza Strip, an enclave of 2.3 million people, with officials there reporting at least 413 Palestinian deaths.

“Overnight IDF fighter jets, helicopters, aircraft and artillery struck over 500 Hamas and Islamic Jihad terrorist targets in the Gaza Strip,” the military said in a statement.

A video, which is going viral on social media, captures the moment when the airstrike targeted a weapon depot in Gaza, causing a large explosion. Visuals show a huge ball of fire and smoke billowing into the sky.

Hamas fighters fired thousands of rockets and breached Gaza’s security barrier, attacking nearby Israeli towns and military posts. They also opened fire on residents and passersby. The group labelled its attack “Operation Al-Aqsa Flood” and called on “resistance fighters in the West Bank” as well as in “Arab and Islamic nations” to join the battle. 

Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed to turn Hamas hideouts “to rubble” and urged Palestinians there to flee.

More than 20,000 people in Gaza have been displaced due to fighting, the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine refugees (UNRWA) said.

Israel’s allies have responded by pledging fresh support, to confront what US President Jo Biden branded an “unprecedented terrorist assault” by Hamas.

The death count has surged to almost 1,000 since the Hamas group launched a terror attack on Israel with a barrage of rockets and a large-scale ground assault. The war has killed over 600 on the Israeli side, while Gaza reported at least 370 deaths.

  1. The conflict’s bloodiest escalation in decades saw Hamas carry out a massive rocket barrage and ground, air and sea offensive, that reports said had killed 600 Israelis and wounded 1,000. Gaza officials said intense Israeli air strikes on the coastal enclave had brought the Palestinian death count to at least 400, with nearly 1,700 wounded.

  2. Lebanon’s Iran-backed Hezbollah said it fired “large numbers of artillery shells and guided missiles” at Israeli positions in a contested border area. It said the assault was “in solidarity” with the attack launched by Hamas.

  3. Benjamin Netanyahu vowed to avenge what he said was a “black day” for Israel. “The IDF (army) is about to use all its force to destroy Hamas’s capabilities. We’ll strike them to the bitter end and avenge with force this black day they brought on Israel and its people,” he said.

  4. He warned Palestinians living near Hamas sites in Gaza to leave as he vowed to turn its hideouts into “rubble” following its surprise attack. “I’m telling the people of Gaza: get out of there now, because we’re about to act everywhere with all our force,” he said.

  5. Israeli officials said about 100 soldiers and civilians have been kidnapped by Hamas. “Terrorists rampaged and broke into homes, massacring civilians. Hundreds had invaded the country, hundreds are still fighting troops inside Israel,” army spokesman Richard Hecht said.

Hamas launched a criminal attack, without distinguishing between women, children and the elderly. It will realise very quickly that it made a grave mistake. We will change the face of reality in the Gaza Strip,” Israeli defence minister Yoav Gallant said in a video statement.

  9. As the UN Security Council called an emergency meeting today, US President Joe Biden voiced “rock solid and unwavering” support for Israel and warned “against any other party hostile to Israel seeking advantage in this situation”.
