A powerful earthquake measuring 8.2 magnitude struck Mindanao in the Philippines on Monday, according to the German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ).

An earthquake of magnitude 8.2 struck
Mindanao in the Philippines on Monday, the German Research
Centre for Geosciences (GFZ) said.
The quake was at a depth of 10 km (6.2 miles), GFZ said.
GFZ earlier pegged the earthquake at 7.3. The U.S. Tsunami
Warning System issued a tsunami threat to the earthquake.
