भारतीय क्रिकेट कंट्रोल बोर्ड (BCCI) ने हर्षित राणा के रिप्लेसमेंट का एलान कर दिया है. तेज गेंदबाज मोहम्मद सिराज वर्ल्ड कप के लिए टीम इंडिया में शामिल हुए हैं. हर्षित राणा को दक्षिण अफ्रीका के खिलाफ वॉर्मअप मैच में चोट आई थी, जिसके बाद वह पूरे टूर्नामेंट से बाहर हो गए. बीसीसीआई ने हर्षित राणा की जगह मोहम्मद सिराज को 15 सदस्यीय टीम में शामिल किया है.

बीसीसीआई ने प्रेस रिलीज जारी कर कहा, तेज गेंदबाज हर्षित राणा 4 फरवरी 2026 को नवी मुंबई में दक्षिण अफ्रीका के खिलाफ वॉर्म-अप मैच के दौरान घुटने में चोट लगने के कारण आगामी आईसीसी पुरुष टी20 विश्व कप 2026 से बाहर हो गए हैं. बीसीसीआई की मेडिकल टीम ने उन्हें टूर्नामेंट में हिस्सा लेने के लिए अयोग्य घोषित कर दिया है. टीम मैनेजमेंट उनके जल्द स्वस्थ होने की कामना करता है. तेज गेंदबाज मोहम्मद सिराज हर्षित राणा की जगह पर टीम में शामिल होंगे.

बता दें कि हर्षित राणा 4 फरवरी को चोटिल हुए थे. इसके बाद उन्हें 5 फरवरी को क्लिनिक जांच के लिए भेजा गया. जांच में पता चला कि उनके घुटने में सूजन है, जिसकी वजह से मूवमेंट में कमी है. राणा ने तेज दर्द की भी शिकायत की. इसके बाद जब स्कैन कराया गया तो Lateral Meniscus यानी घुटने के बाहरी हिस्से में चोट का पता चला. मशहूर ऑर्थोपेडिक सर्जन डॉक्टर दिनशॉ पारदीवाला की सलाह के बाद उन्हें सर्जरी के लिए कहा गया है. मेडिकल टीम ने जांच के बाद पाया है कि बिना सर्जरी के उनकी रिकवरी पॉसिबल नहीं है.

India’s T20 World Cup preparations have suffered a confirmed setback as pacer Harshit Rana has officially been ruled out of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 due to a knee injury sustained during the warm-up match against South Africa on February 4 in Navi Mumbai.

Following scans and consultations with specialists, the BCCI medical team confirmed Rana unfit to participate in the tournament. The Board and team management have wished him a speedy recovery.

In response, the BCCI has officially named Mohammed Siraj as Rana’s replacement in the 15-man squad. Siraj, who currently plays for Gujarat Titans in domestic T20 competitions, has featured in 16 T20Is for India, taking 14 wickets. His last appearance for the national side in the shortest format was in July 2024.

“Harshit Rana hasn’t been ruled out yet, physios are assessing him, but he doesn’t look good,” Suryakumar told reporters. When pressed on the gravity of the situation, he added, “It’s a big blow because of the combination we make, keeping in mind 15 players. If he misses out, we will definitely miss him. We have enough options. We shall look at the replacements of fast bowlers who are there. We shall pick the best one.”

Addressing the loss of Rana’s batting ability at the bottom of the order, Yadav remained pragmatic: “I know there is the case of someone batting at no. 9 like Harshit, but having said that, what will the first 8 batsmen do then?! They have to bat.”

Additional Squad Concerns

The Indian camp continues to monitor Washington Sundar, who has yet to recover from his injury to join the World Cup squad. On a more positive note, Tilak Varma has successfully integrated into the team and featured in the warm-up match against South Africa.
